I have PTSD (self-diagnosed) from a stretch of highway in the Canadian Mountains that, unbeknownst to me, had its own ecosystem, which included very squall-ish to white out blizzard conditions. I was, of course, driving on the plummet to your death side of the highway while Big 18 wheelers were impatiently trying to pass me on.
That sounds terrifying! The way you describe it reminds me of a stretch on the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado. In my mind, when you make it through, you feel like a million dollars.
