What??? I have never eaten homemade Chex mix. Hadn't even realized it was a thing! And I haven't been stashed in a Victorian attic. Perhaps I need new glasses.
my mom used to make chex mix when i was a kid. yes i can remember that far back! and suddenly, i'm starved for her home made chex mix, but she never gave out the recipe. Please, please, PLEASE drop the real recipe for us.
I said this to someone else above too, but sadly, it’s just the recipe printed on back of every box of Chex since, I presume, 1951 or so. (I took a picture of it but can’t post it here, it seems.)

My family has added a secret weapon to the recipe: one cup of Cheerios. Otherise, yes.

Always one of my favorites! Making mounds of “Party Mix” to bag up for family and friends and of course a large bowl with extra nuts for me!
